Stephen Lighthill has been elected president of the American Society of Cinematographers. He succeeds Michael Goi, who served a maximum three consecutive terms.

Dimension Films has gone hog wild this week pounding the Web with clips from their Blair Witch Project in space, Apollo 18, which opens in theaters September 2 from director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego. ”

Scorsese and Monahan Reteaming on The Gambler

Director Martin Scorsese and and screenwriter William Monahan, who last teamed on The Departed, are developing The Gambler at Paramount Pictures.
The project, which they want Leonardo DiCaprio to star in, is a remake of the 1974 movie starring James Caan as an English professor with a gambling addiction. Irwin Winkler, who produced the original, will again act as producer of the new film.
